Sergey Solnyshkov, also known as Sergei Solnishkov and nicknamed Sunshine, is a Russian professional paintball player from Moscow. He has represented Russian Legion, Houston Heat and Art Chaos Moscow in professional X-Ball. His career includes World Cup victories with all three organisations. [1][2][4] == Playing career == === Russian Legion === Solnyshkov competed for Russian Legion before joining Houston Heat for the 2012 season. In a February 2012 interview, he identified World Cup victories in 2009 and 2010 among his principal achievements. The team competed in American tournaments under the Boston Red Legion name during this period. [1] === Houston Heat === Solnyshkov joined Houston Heat for its inaugural professional season in 2012, alongside fellow Russian players Konstantin Fedorov and Mikhail Knyazev. [1][2] He was part of the roster that won the 2012 PSP World Cup and professional series championship. Heat defeated Tampa Bay Damage 4-2 in the World Cup final, completing a season in which it also won the Phoenix Open and Mid-Atlantic Open. The team's published championship roster listed Solnyshkov as a front player. [2] === Art Chaos Moscow === In November 2013, Houston Heat announced that Solnyshkov, Fedorov and Knyazev would leave to play for Art Chaos Moscow full-time in 2014. [3] Solnyshkov subsequently helped Art Chaos win the 2014 PSP World Cup. Contemporary coverage identified him as part of the team's principal playing line alongside Fedorov, Knyazev, Alexander Berdnikov and Pavel Lukashuk. Art Chaos defeated Tampa Bay Damage in the professional final. [4] === Return to Houston Heat === By the 2015 PSP Virginia Beach event, Solnyshkov had returned to Houston Heat and was listed as a checked-in player on its tournament roster. [5] He was also a member of Heat's winning roster at the 2018 NXL World Cup. Houston defeated Moscow Red Legion 5-4 in the professional final. [6] === Return to Russian Legion === Solnyshkov returned to Russian Legion for the 2019 season. Tournament records list him on the Moscow Red Legion roster at the Texas Open, where the team defeated ac Dallas 6-1 in the final. [7] At the 2022 NXL Windy City Major, he helped Red Legion reach the professional final against Edmonton Impact. The league's event report highlighted his attacking play through the centre of the field during the semi-final victory over San Diego Dynasty. Red Legion finished second to Impact. [8] He remained with Red Legion in 2025, when an interview published by the organisation discussed his training, experience with Houston Heat and approach to professional competition. [9] == Playing style == Solnyshkov has played attacking positions, including the centre of the field. [2][8] In his 2025 interview, he attributed his versatility to both Russian Legion's coaching and his own preference for attacking play. He described the team's high-volume training as preparation for maintaining concentration and physical intensity throughout long matches.
