Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup was a Malaysian tournament paintball competition held in Kuching, Sarawak, in 2010 and 2011. The inaugural competition took place at Jubilee Ground on 30 and 31 October 2010 and was won in the Open Division by Nemesis Legion.[1][2] Nemesis Legion retained the Open Division title at the 2011 tournament.[3] The competition was distinct from the Sarawak Cup, although leading teams at the Chief Minister's Cup received entry to subsequent Sarawak Cup tournaments as part of their prizes.[2][4] == 2010 tournament == The inaugural Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup was held at Jubilee Ground, Kuching, on 30 and 31 October 2010.[1] It was organised by the Borneo Paintball Sports Club in collaboration with the Sarawak Ministry of Social Development and Urbanisation.[1] Pre-tournament material also identified BPP Stadium Paintball and the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu youth organisation for the N12 constituency as organisers. Supporting bodies included the Sarawak Chief Minister's Office, the Sarawak youth and sports authorities, the Malaysian National Paintball League, the Malaysian Paintball Federation and the Malaysian Paintball Referee Organisation.[4] A total of 35 teams had registered before the competition, including teams from Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Sabah.[1] The tournament offered approximately RM40,000 in cash prizes across three five-player categories: * Open Division * Amateur Division * Rookie Division The Open Division used a race-to-two format. Amateur teams were permitted no more than one registered Division 1 player from the Malaysian National Paintball League or Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit, while Rookie teams were permitted no more than one registered Division 2 player from those circuits.[4] Rookie Division competitors used equipment supplied by the organiser.[4] Nemesis Legion won the Open Division and received RM8,000, a trophy, medals, paint and free registration for the proposed 2011 Sarawak Cup.[2] Complete placings for the other 2010 divisions have not been located in the available contemporary records. == 2011 tournament == The second Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup was held in Kuching on 9 and 10 July 2011.[3][5] Published results recorded three divisions. Nemesis Legion retained the Open Division title, while Dark Knights won the combined Amateur and Novice Division and Hornet Waxers won the Rookie Division.[3] == Results == {| class="wikitable" ! The highest-placed Open and Amateur teams received registration for the proposed 2011 Sarawak Cup, while the leading Rookie teams received entry into its Amateur Division.[4] All top-four teams in the three divisions were also offered registration for the International Super Seven Championship 2011.[4] Despite these links, the Chief Minister's Cup and Sarawak Cup were separately named and organised competitions. == See also == * Sarawak Cup * Paintball in Malaysia * Sarawak Paintball Association * Malaysian National Paintball League * International Super Seven Championship == References == # Villain Paintball β Sarawak to host paintball tourney, 28 October 2010 # The Star β Nemesis Legion gun down field in Chief Minister's Cup paintball, 2 November 2010 # Villain Paintball β Sarawak CM Cup 2011: Results, 12 July 2011 # Team 3nity Paintball β Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup, 15 October 2010 # tomato & the rest of the world β tournament participation record == External links == * Contemporary report on the 2010 tournament * Published 2011 results
