Editing Rotorua Paintball Club

Rotorua Paintball Club was a New Zealand paintball club involved in recreational play and tournament organisation in Rotorua and Tauranga during the 2000s. It supported the Rotorua Invitational and helped organise the early Volcanic tournaments, working with Paintball BOP and later being hosted by Paintball Sportz.[1][2][3]

History
The club was active by December 2000. At the first Rotorua Invitational, held at Blue Lake Reserve on 3 December 2000, it supplied the playing field and gas without charge. Four teams attended the event, which was won by Katipo.[1]

Paintball BOP's archived tournament history identifies the business and Rotorua Paintball Club as joint organisers of the 2001 and 2002 Volcanic tournaments at Rotorua International Stadium.[2]

By December 2005, Paintball Sportz's website stated that it hosted the club, which organised regular club days and trips to paintball events elsewhere in New Zealand.[3]

Activities
The club's archived webpage described three principal objectives: promoting paintball in New Zealand, supporting local teams competing at local, national and international levels, and organising recreational and social games for local players.[4]

The page advertised club days on the first Sunday of each month in Tauranga and the third Sunday in Rotorua. Sessions were scheduled to begin at 10 am, and visitors were welcome.[4]

The associated Paintball BOP field website advertised bush and speedball facilities in Rotorua and Tauranga, together with portable inflatable fields.[5]
