Status | Active in 2026 |} == History == === Background === Nemesis has been associated with Malaysian competitive paintball since the mid-2000s. According to a historical profile published by Mudtrekker, the original Nemesis paintball team was formed in late 2005 through the combination of players from several Malaysian teams. The organisation subsequently developed coaching activities for both new and experienced players. [5] Nemesis Paintball Club was also associated with the Malaysian Super Seven Championship during the late 2000s. These historical activities provide background to the Nemesis name in Malaysian paintball. However, the precise founding date of the modern Nemesis Legion Paintball Academy and its legal relationship with the earlier club have not been independently established. === Establishment at Cahaya SPK === NLPA operates at Cahaya SPK in Shah Alam, Selangor. The academy is associated with the wider Mudtrekker paintball facilities in the area. Mudtrekker's website identifies Nemesis Paintball Academy as a specialist training and tournament field and describes the Nemesis organisation's coaching activities. [5] The facility developed as a venue for competitive paintball training and organised tournaments. Its permanent playing area supports tournament practice, team training and structured coaching programmes. === Tournament activity in 2025 === NLPA hosted several documented tournament events during 2025. The Malaysia Paintball League held its opening leg at the academy on 4β5 January 2025. The league returned for its fourth leg on 1β2 November. [3][6] The academy also hosted the Nemesis 1v1 Championship. The first documented leg took place on 1 June 2025, followed by a second event scheduled for 22β23 November. [4][7] The Malaysian Super Seven Championship was listed for 20β21 December 2025 at NLPA. [8] These events established the academy as a recurring venue in Malaysia's modern tournament calendar. === Activity in 2026 === NLPA continued operating in 2026. A report published by Kosmo! on 26 April 2026 profiled competitive paintball player Vimal Kumar and described his training at the academy. The report identified NLPA as a significant competitive paintball training facility in Shah Alam. [2] On 20β21 June 2026, the academy hosted a Selangor community and university paintball championship organised in cooperation with Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia, UPTM Stingerz and KSM Paintballers. A contemporary announcement reported 210 participants, comprising 15 rookie teams and 20 university teams. [9] In September 2026, NLPA publicised a grassroots development programme involving students from Politeknik Banting. The programme included paintball theory, safety instruction, practical drills and a closed tournament. [1] == Facilities == === Tournament field === NLPA operates a dedicated competitive paintball field used for speedball training and tournaments. The venue accommodates inflatable bunker layouts used in organised competition. It supports team practice, structured drills and league events. The academy has hosted tournaments using race-format and individual competition formats. === Training facilities === NLPA provides coaching for players at different experience levels. The training programme includes introductory instruction and advanced competitive development. Activities documented by the academy include: * Paintball safety and equipment familiarisation * Tournament rules and field etiquette * Marker setup and basic equipment instruction * Breakout drills * Player movement and positioning * Snap shooting * Communication * Team strategy * Practice matches and tournament preparation The academy also offers individual coaching and advanced player development. [1][5] == Player development == === Introductory programmes === NLPA provides introductory paintball activities for new players. These programmes introduce participants to safety procedures, equipment, game rules and basic competitive techniques. The academy's September 2026 programme with Politeknik Banting combined classroom-style instruction with practical exercises and a tournament experience. [1] === Competitive coaching === Competitive coaching is a principal activity of the academy. The Nemesis organisation has advertised training ranging from youth and beginner development to advanced individual coaching. Mudtrekker's historical description identifies individual skill development and advanced training programmes as part of its offering. [5] The academy also serves as a regular training location for competitive players preparing for Malaysian tournament events. === University and community participation === NLPA has supported community and university paintball activities. The June 2026 Selangor community and university championship included rookie and university categories. The event was supported by the Selangor State Youth and Sports Department and involved cooperation with university and community paintball organisations. [9] Such activities provide opportunities for new participants to experience organised competitive paintball. == Tournament hosting == === Malaysia Paintball League === The Malaysia Paintball League (MPL) is a modern Malaysian tournament series operating Open and Amateur divisions. NLPA hosted the first and fourth legs of the 2025 season. The published format included Race-to-4 competition for the Open Division and Race-to-3 competition for the Amateur Division. [3][6] The academy's role as a recurring MPL venue contributed to the league's tournament infrastructure. === Malaysian Super Seven Championship === The Malaysian Super Seven Championship is a seven-player tournament competition with historical roots in Malaysian paintball during the late 2000s. A modern championship was listed for 20β21 December 2025 at NLPA. [8] The historical relationship between this modern competition and the earlier Super7 tournaments associated with Nemesis Paintball Club requires further verification. === Nemesis 1v1 Championship === The Nemesis 1v1 Championship is an individual competitive paintball series held at NLPA. The first documented leg was scheduled for 1 June 2025. The published format included: * One-on-one competition * Race-to-5 scoring * Ten-minute game time * Maximum marker rate of 10.5 balls per second * Maximum muzzle velocity of 280 feet per second * Single-elimination competition * A maximum of three support crew per player The event advertised an Open Division with a registration fee of RM250 and a first-place prize of RM1,000. [4] A second leg was listed for 22β23 November 2025. [7] === Community and university competitions === NLPA hosted the Selangor community and university paintball championship on 20β21 June 2026. The event included rookie and university divisions and was associated with Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia and local paintball organisations. The reported participation of 210 players demonstrates the venue's involvement in developing competition beyond established tournament teams. [9] == Recreational and corporate activities == Although NLPA specialises in competitive speedball, it also offers recreational paintball and corporate programmes. The academy has hosted company team-building events and private groups. Its September 2026 announcements identified corporate activities involving St. Regis and Yusmanida Auto. [1] NLPA also participates in public events and festivals. In September 2026, it announced participation in Festival Budaya Selangor at Dataran Pantai Batu Laut, Tanjung Sepat, where it planned to offer paintball target-shooting activities. [1] These activities provide additional opportunities for public engagement with paintball. == Relationship with Mudtrekker == Mudtrekker operates recreational paintball facilities in Shah Alam. Its website identifies Nemesis Paintball Academy as a specialist tournament and training facility. Mudtrekker also describes Nemesis coaching services and the historical development of the Nemesis team. [5] The relationship connects recreational paintball facilities with specialist competitive training. However, the available public information does not conclusively establish the precise ownership structure or legal relationship between Mudtrekker and NLPA. == Associated organisations == === Nemesis Legion Paintball Club === Nemesis Legion Paintball Club is associated with the academy and uses the facility as a home training ground. The club participates in Malaysian competitive paintball. The academy's public profile identifies it as the home ground of the Nemesis Legion organisation. [1] The club and academy are related but should be distinguished as a competitive team organisation and a physical training facility. === NL Draco Paintball Club === NL Draco Paintball Club is associated with the Nemesis Legion competitive organisation. Its public announcements document participation in the Malaysia Paintball League and other tournaments. The club also publicised the June 2026 university and community tournament hosted at NLPA. [9] === NLPA Empire === NLPA Empire was presented as a paintball specialist business at the ASEAN Sports Industry Expo 2025. Its exhibition profile advertised paintball field setup, mobile fields, event organisation, corporate programmes, recreational games, pro-shop services and sports performance clothing. [10] The profile demonstrates the wider commercial activities associated with the NLPA name. The precise legal relationship between NLPA Empire and the academy requires further verification. == Relationship to the Malaysian Paintball Academy == The earlier Malaysian Paintball Academy (MAPAAC) was established in 2006 at Kompleks Sukan Astaka in Petaling Jaya. MAPAAC hosted MY-NPL and Super7 competitions during the late 2000s. Nemesis Paintball Club was associated with Super7 tournaments at that facility. The modern Nemesis Legion Paintball Academy operates at a different location in Shah Alam. Although the two organisations share historical connections through Nemesis paintball activities, the available evidence does not establish that NLPA is a direct legal successor to MAPAAC. They should therefore be documented as separate facilities unless further evidence establishes organisational continuity. == Historical significance == Nemesis Legion Paintball Academy is an important venue in Malaysia's modern competitive paintball scene. Its activities combine permanent tournament facilities, structured coaching, recreational participation and event organisation. The academy has hosted major domestic competitions, including Malaysia Paintball League rounds, the Malaysian Super Seven Championship and individual one-on-one tournaments. It has also supported grassroots development through university and community competitions. The organisation's relationship with Nemesis paintball activities dating to the mid-2000s connects the modern facility with a longer period of Malaysian tournament history. NLPA illustrates the continuing importance of dedicated training facilities in the development of Paintball in Malaysia. == Timeline == {| class="wikitable" ! Year !
