Malaysia Paintball Super League (MPSL) is a Malaysian tournament paintball competition documented in 2024 and 2025. The league is associated with tournament field layouts and competitions including the LADA Cup in Langkawi, Kedah. [1][2] MPSL appears in Malaysia's modern tournament paintball scene alongside the Malaysia Paintball League (MPL), Malaysian X-Ball League (MXBL) and other regional competitions. The league's precise founding date, legal organising entity and complete championship history have not been independently established. The Langkawi Development Authority listed a proposed Malaysia Paintball Super League Leg 3 – ASEAN LADA Cup for May 2025, although its official calendar did not specify a confirmed event date. These have included the Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit, Malaysian National Paintball League, NXL Asia and Malaysian X-Ball League. The Malaysia Paintball Super League appears in records from the mid-2020s. Its name should be distinguished from the similarly named Malaysia Paintball League and Northern Paintball Super League. The available sources do not conclusively establish whether these competitions shared an organising entity. === Documented activity in 2024 === The GunzUp paintball field-layout archive identifies a league entry named MPSL – Malaysia Paintball Super League. Its 2024 records include layouts labelled: * MPSL 2024 * IPPGMC2024 * Kelab Sahabat Paintballers * LADA CUP 2024 – Langkawi These records demonstrate that tournament layouts were associated with the MPSL name during 2024. [1] They do not independently establish the final results or precise organisational status of each listed competition. === LADA Cup 2024 === Langkawi hosted a paintball tournament associated with the Northern Paintball Super League and Langkawi International LADA Cup in December 2024. The Langkawi Development Authority listed the competition for 7–8 December at the Langkawi Sports Complex. [3] The official Naturally Langkawi tourism website used the title Langkawi Paintball Challenge–LADA Cup 2024. It described the competition as formerly known as the Northern Paintball Super League. The organiser was identified as Jalak Lenteng Paintball Club. [4] The GunzUp archive also lists a LADA Cup 2024 layout under the MPSL league heading. [1] These sources establish an association between the event and the MPSL layout archive, but do not conclusively establish that MPSL and the Northern Paintball Super League were identical organisations. === Proposed ASEAN LADA Cup 2025 === The Langkawi Development Authority included Malaysia Paintball Super League Leg 3 – ASEAN LADA Cup in its May 2025 events calendar. The listing covered May 2025 but stated that the exact date was to be confirmed. [2] The title suggests that the event was intended to form the third leg of an MPSL championship. However, the available official calendar record does not establish that the tournament ultimately took place. No independently verified final standings or championship results have been identified. === Other activity in 2025 === The GunzUp field-layout archive lists a 2025 layout named Malaysia Paintball League under the MPSL heading. [1] This may reflect shared administration of tournament layouts or an organisational relationship between competitions. The listing alone is insufficient to establish that Malaysia Paintball League and Malaysia Paintball Super League were the same organisation. The two names should therefore remain distinct pending further evidence. == Tournament organisation == The legal entity responsible for operating the Malaysia Paintball Super League has not been conclusively identified. The available records demonstrate the use of the MPSL name in tournament layout archives and the Langkawi Development Authority's official event calendar. The December 2024 Langkawi Paintball Challenge–LADA Cup was organised by Jalak Lenteng Paintball Club. [4] However, that does not establish Jalak Lenteng Paintball Club as the operator of every competition associated with MPSL. Further research is required to identify the league's administrators, ownership structure and historical continuity. == Associated competitions == === Langkawi International LADA Cup === The Langkawi International LADA Cup was a tournament competition held at the Langkawi Sports Complex. The 2024 event was associated with the Northern Paintball Super League. The competition was included in Langkawi's official tourism and sporting calendar. The event also appears in the MPSL field-layout archive. The relationship between the LADA Cup and MPSL is documented, but the precise organisational structure remains uncertain. === Northern Paintball Super League === The Northern Paintball Super League was a regional Malaysian paintball competition. The official Naturally Langkawi website described the 2024 Langkawi Paintball Challenge–LADA Cup as formerly known as the Northern Paintball Super League. [4] This establishes a historical relationship between those competition names. It does not independently establish a formal merger or rebranding into the Malaysia Paintball Super League. === ASEAN LADA Cup === The ASEAN LADA Cup was included in the Langkawi Development Authority's May 2025 calendar under the title Malaysia Paintball Super League Leg 3 – ASEAN LADA Cup. The listing identified the event as a proposed third leg of the competition. Its final date, participating teams and results have not been independently verified. == Tournament venues == === Langkawi Sports Complex === The Langkawi Sports Complex, also known as Kompleks Sukan Langkawi, is a sporting venue on Langkawi island in Kedah. The venue hosted the December 2024 LADA Cup. It has also been associated with other international paintball events, including the Langkawi Asia Cup. The use of Langkawi as a paintball tournament destination connects the sport with the island's wider tourism industry. == Competition format == MPSL is documented as a tournament league. The existence of field-layout records indicates that its competitions used organised tournament paintball layouts. However, the available sources do not conclusively establish a consistent divisional structure, game duration, scoring format or championship points system. Rules from other Malaysian paintball leagues should not automatically be attributed to MPSL. == Relationship to other Malaysian leagues == === Malaysia Paintball League === The Malaysia Paintball League (MPL) is a separate documented tournament competition. MPL operated Open and Amateur divisions during 2025 and published a multi-round calendar for 2026. A 2025 Malaysia Paintball League layout appears under the MPSL heading in the GunzUp archive. This suggests a possible administrative relationship but does not conclusively establish common ownership or organisational succession. === Malaysian X-Ball League === The Malaysian X-Ball League (MXBL) is associated with Canyon Paintball in Selangor. MXBL has a separate documented tournament history and competition structure. No verified evidence establishes that MXBL was operated by MPSL. === Earlier national leagues === The Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit and Malaysian National Paintball League were established during the 2000s. They represent earlier phases of Malaysia's competitive tournament development. The available sources do not establish that MPSL was a direct successor to either league. == Historical significance == The Malaysia Paintball Super League forms part of the documented Malaysian tournament paintball landscape during the mid-2020s. Its appearance in tournament field-layout archives and an official Langkawi Development Authority event listing demonstrates activity associated with the MPSL name. The proposed ASEAN LADA Cup also illustrates the continuing role of Langkawi in Malaysian tournament paintball. However, the league's complete history, organisers, competition rules and championship results remain incompletely documented. The relationship between MPSL, the Northern Paintball Super League and Malaysia Paintball League requires further investigation. == Timeline == {| class="wikitable" ! Year !
