Editing Heroines

The Heroines are an American women's professional paintball team based in Boston, Massachusetts, associated with Boston Paintball. Owned by Lori Miller and Anthony Vitale, the team competes in the Women's National Xball League (WNXL). The Heroines won the inaugural WNXL World Cup and season championship in 2022, followed by both titles again in 2024 and 2025.[1][2][3][4]

Formation
The team was established ahead of the WNXL's first full season in 2022. In a statement dated 2 November 2021, Miller announced the Heroines' planned participation in the women's exhibition at the upcoming World Cup.[5]

Miller described the team's purpose as providing opportunities for women to compete at professional level, increasing their visibility within paintball and encouraging new players to enter the sport.[5]

Tournament history
Inaugural season
The Heroines finished third at the 2022 Sunshine State Major before winning the Mid-Atlantic Major.[1]

At the 2022 World Cup, they advanced through the preliminary round with three wins and one defeat, then beat Dallas Vibe in the semi-final. They defeated Destiny by two points to one in the final, securing both the World Cup and the inaugural WNXL season championship.[3]

Contemporary coverage highlighted contributions from Jenn Fulk, Rozy McCurley, Alicia Valdivia and Alexis Lazer. Lazer won one-on-one situations in each of the first two points of the final, helping establish the team's lead.[3]

Subsequent seasons
In 2023, the Heroines won the Windy City Major and finished third at the World Cup.[1]

Daniela Rojas joined the team after the 2023 season, having previously played for Femmes Fatale. Her account identifies Vitale and Miller as the team's owners and Vitale as its coach.[2]

The Heroines won the Mid-Atlantic Major and World Cup in 2024. They followed this with victories at the Midwest Open and World Cup in 2025, retaining both the World Cup and season championships.[1][4]

In 2026, they won the WNXL professional division at the Tampa Bay Open and Midwest Open.[1]
