Editing Decay of Nations 14

'''Decay of Nations 14''', also known as '''Decay of Nations XIV''', was the fourteenth edition of the American [[scenario paintball]] event [[Decay of Nations]], held on 25–26 September 2021 at [[SC Village]] in Chino, California.[1][2]

The event followed [[Decay of Nations 13]], held in September 2019, with the numbering of the series resuming in 2021 following the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

== Event ==

Decay of Nations 14 took place over the weekend of 25–26 September 2021.

A contemporary Inland Empire events calendar listed Decay of Nations at SC Village on Saturday, 25 September. Participants subsequently published photographs and gameplay footage identifying the event as Decay of Nations 14.[1][2]

The scenario featured two opposing armies, identified by red and blue team colours. Each army had a general responsible for assigning missions and coordinating objectives.

Gameplay incorporated the collection of designated objects, paintball grenades and specialised anti-armour equipment used against paintball tanks and mechs.[3]

== Participation ==

A participant writing on Reddit on 28 September 2021 estimated attendance at approximately 560 players, compared with the event's usual participation of more than 1,000.

The participant attributed the reduced attendance to the COVID-19 pandemic. This estimate has not been independently confirmed by the organisers.[3]

Participants shared gameplay footage from the event, including footage recorded on SC Village's Bosnia playing field on 26 September 2021.[3]

A separate photographic post published on 3 October 2021 explicitly identified the gathering as Decay of Nations 14.[2]
