Art Chaos Moscow was a Russian professional paintball team based in Moscow. Originally competing under the name Echo, the team adopted the Art Chaos Moscow name in late 2007 and developed into one of the leading international tournament teams of the early 2010s.[1][2] Art Chaos won the 2010 Millennium Series Semi-Professional Paintball League championship, followed by consecutive Champions Paintball League (CPL) season titles in 2011 and 2012. In 2014, the team won both the Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) West Coast Open and PSP World Cup in the United States.[1][3][4] The organisation ceased operations in October 2014, shortly after its World Cup victory.[5] == History == === Origins and early competition (2007β2009) === The organisation originally competed as Echo, entering the 2007 Millennium Series Division 2 championship. Echo finished sixth among 61 teams in the division that season. At the end of 2007, the team was reorganised and adopted the name Art Chaos Moscow, entering the Millennium Series Semi-Professional Paintball League (SPL) in 2008.[2] Before the 2009 season, the roster was strengthened by the addition of players from Russian Legion. Art Chaos finished fifth overall in the 2009 Millennium Series SPL standings, including second place at the London event and victory at the Antalya tournament in Turkey. The team also competed in the Grand Tour European professional circuit, winning events in Graz, Austria, and Budapest, Hungary.[1][2] === SPL championship (2010) === Art Chaos won the 2010 Millennium Series Semi-Professional Paintball League championship. The team secured tournament victories at the European Masters in Bitburg, Germany, and the Campaign Cup in London, England. Art Chaos finished the season with 339 championship points, earning promotion to the Champions Paintball League for 2011.[1] === European dominance (2011β2012) === Art Chaos became a leading competitor in the Millennium Series Champions Paintball League during the 2011 season. The team finished second at the opening tournament in Paris-Longchamp before winning the remaining three events at Bitburg, London and Paris-Disney. With 388 championship points, Art Chaos won the 2011 CPL season title and finished first in the European Paintball Federation rankings.[1] The team retained its CPL championship in 2012. At the French Riviera Cup in Saint-TropezβCannes on 25 March 2012, Art Chaos defeated San Diego Dynasty 5β1 in the professional final. Art Chaos subsequently finished fourth in Bitburg and third in London before winning the final event at Paris-Disney. The team secured the 2012 CPL season championship with 352 points.[1][6] === 2013 season === Art Chaos remained among the leading European professional teams during 2013. The team finished third at the Mediterranean Cup in Puget-sur-Argens, fifth at the European Masters in Bitburg and second at the Campaign Cup in London. Art Chaos won the final event at Paris-Chantilly, but finished second overall in the CPL season standings with 332 points, behind Toulouse TonTons.[1] In August 2013, the organisation announced its intention to enter the American PSP professional circuit in 2014 while continuing to compete in the Millennium Series.[2] === Expansion into the United States (2014) === Art Chaos assembled an international roster for its 2014 campaign in Europe and the United States. In November 2013, Houston Heat confirmed that Konstantin Fedorov, Mikhail Knyazev and Sergey Solnyshkov would leave the American team to join Art Chaos full-time.[7] The organisation subsequently recruited French player Axel Gaudin from Toulouse TonTons and British player Clint Moore from London Nexus. The January 2014 team announcement identified Maxim Preobrazhenskiy as coach and Olga Rumyantseva as team manager.[8] Art Chaos competed in the PSP professional division during 2014, initially participating in both the Champions and Challengers divisions under the league's promotion and relegation system. At the PSP West Coast Open, held on 8β10 August 2014, the team defeated Edmonton Impact 7β4 in the professional final to win its first American PSP event championship.[3] The team achieved its most significant American victory at the PSP World Cup in October 2014. Art Chaos defeated Tampa Bay Damage 7β0 in the professional Champions Division final, winning the World Cup title in its first full season competing in the United States.[4] Art Chaos finished third in the 2014 PSP professional season standings, according to the official PBLeagues results.[9] In Europe, the team won the final Millennium Series tournament at Paris-Chantilly, defeating Houston Heat 3β2 in overtime. Art Chaos finished fifth overall in the 2014 CPL season rankings.[1][10] === Closure (2014) === On 27 October 2014, following the conclusion of the PSP World Cup, the organisation announced that its owner had decided to close the Art Chaos project. In a statement issued on behalf of the team, media representative Ami Helge confirmed that players had been released from their commitments and were free to join other organisations. The announcement brought an end to the professional programme shortly after its victories at the PSP World Cup and Millennium Series Paris-Chantilly event.[5] == Selected tournament results == {| class="wikitable" !
