Editing 2023 WCPL Southern California Classic

The '''2023 WCPL Southern California Classic''' was a paintball tournament held on '''18–19 February 2023''' at '''Ambush Paintball Park''' in '''Moorpark, California'''. Organised by [[Fred Schultz]], it opened the [[World Classic Paintball League]]'s 2023 season.[1][2]

Ten teams contested the open ten-player competition. Dynasty Old School won the three-team round-robin final, followed by OG Ironmen and Los Angeles Ironmen.[2]

== Venue and organisation ==

PBLeagues listed Ambush Paintball Park at 8643 Shekell Road, Moorpark, California.[1]

The WCPL's preview described a mounds field constructed with earthworks, berms and ridges. Its subsequent event report stated that two fields were used.[2][3]

== Format ==

The event registration category was '''Open 10v10 (Sat–Sun)''', with '''12-minute games'''. PBLeagues recorded ten registered and paid teams.[1]

The preliminary competition used round-robin play and a maximum score of 100 points per game. The WCPL report stated that a perfect preliminary performance would have produced 900 points.[2]

The leading three teams advanced to a separate round-robin final. Places fourth to tenth were determined by preliminary results.[2]

== Three-team final ==

Dynasty Old School, OG Ironmen and Los Angeles Ironmen contested the final round. Dynasty Old School finished first, OG Ironmen second and Los Angeles Ironmen third.[2]

OG Ironmen and Los Angeles Ironmen were separate entries. PBLeagues records the runner-up as '''Ironmen''', while the contemporary WCPL report identifies that team as '''OG Ironmen'''.[2][4]

The following table gives all ten final placings. Scores shown for fourth to tenth are preliminary playing points, as published in the WCPL report; they are not season-ranking points.[2]
