Editing 2014 Paintball Asia League Series

The 2014 Paintball Asia League Series was a season of the international Paintball Asia League Series (PALS). The published season standings include tournaments in Bangkok, Thailand, and Langkawi, Malaysia.[1]

Aisawan finished first in Division 1, SPEED Aisawan headed Division 2 and Virgin Aisawan headed Division 3. The published standings counted only each team's highest event score in these divisions.[1]

In New Zealand, the South Auckland Paintball Club (SAPC) operated a PALS-endorsed competition and offered its Open Series winners PALS-sponsored entry to 2014 Paintball World Cup Asia, with accommodation sponsored by Asylum Paintball.[7][8]

Endorsement and competition
The South Auckland Paintball Club organised its 2014 Open and Novice series at Asylum Paintball in Auckland. Its published series information recorded endorsement from the heads of PALS/APPBF and Millennium Series/EPBF.[7]

SAPC advertised its Open competition for PALS Divisions 1–3 and its Novice competition for Division 4. The formats were five-player Race to 4 for Open and Race to 1 for Novice, using PALS/APPBF rules.[7]

Sponsored World Cup Asia entry
On 26 January 2014, Michael Earley, publishing as MikeE, announced that the SAPC Open Series winners would receive free entry into Division 2 at World Cup Asia in Langkawi. PALS sponsored the entry fee and Asylum Paintball sponsored accommodation.[8]

The club's end-of-season report reconfirmed the sponsored entry and accommodation. The statement, signed by SAPC president Vitaly V. Miheev on 27 September and published on 30 September 2014, also announced that the president would serve as an official tournament coordinator at World Cup Asia.[9]

These records document an endorsed domestic competition and sponsored pathway to World Cup Asia, separate from the international rounds. They do not establish the winning team's eventual attendance or results.[7][8][9]

Season standings
The PBLeagues standings specify that only the highest event score counts in Divisions 1–3. Lower event scores are marked as dropped.[1]

For example, Xtioneer's 85 points from Bangkok counted towards its Division 1 total, while its 20 points from World Cup Asia were dropped.[1]
