The 2014 PSP Chicago Open was a Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) tournament held from 19β22 June 2014 at CPX Sports in Joliet, Illinois, United States. It was the third event of the five-event 2014 PSP season. Edmonton Impact won the professional Champions competition, defeating Houston Heat 7β2 in the final, while Art Chaos won the Challengers competition.[1][2][3] == Venue and format == The tournament took place at CPX Sports, 2903 Schweitzer Road, Joliet. Although named the Chicago Open, the event was held in Joliet rather than Chicago itself.[1] Both professional divisions used RaceTo-7. Divisions 1 and 2 played RaceTo-5, while Divisions 3 and 4 played RaceTo-4. Separate five-player RaceTo-2 competitions were held for Divisions 3 and 4, alongside an open pump RaceTo-2 competition.[1] == Professional competition == === Champions === Edmonton Impact defeated Houston Heat 7β2 in the final on 22 June. The teams were level at 2β2 before Heat incurred three major penalties and Impact pulled away to secure the championship.[3] Heat reached the final on its return to Champions after earning promotion at the 2014 PSP Mid-Atlantic Open. Contemporary coverage highlighted the aggressive snake-side play of Ryan Moorhead and Chad George during Heat's tournament.[3] === Challengers === Art Chaos defeated Houston VcK 7β2 in the Challengers final. Both finalists earned promotion to Champions for the next event. Art Chaos had returned to Challengers after finishing last in Champions at the Mid-Atlantic Open.[3] Los Angeles Infamous remained in Challengers after missing the final. San Antonio X-Factor was relegated from Champions following the Chicago event.[3] == Results == The following tables show the leading four teams in each competition. Challengers positions are shown within that division; PBLeagues records them as places 11β14 in the professional classification.[2] === Professional results === {| class="wikitable" ! Position !!
