Editing 2009 CPPS Round 1

The '''2009 CPPS Round 1''' was the opening round of the 2009 [[Central Premier Paintball Series]] season, held on 8 March 2009. Evil Saints won the M5 Premiere League competition, while So Manc won M7 Premiere League.[1][2][3]

== Organisation and formats ==

Rich Harris announced the event on 9 February 2009 on behalf of Balls Out Promotions. The advertised competitions were M7 Premiere League, using an SPL-style X Ball format with five players on the field; M5 Premiere League, a five-man format; and M3 Championship, a three-man format.[1]

Harris's event-day report confirmed that the three-man competition had been postponed at short notice. Players from the three-man teams instead filled a vacant X Ball place. The advertised three-man competition therefore did not produce a separate results table at this round.[2]

== Results ==

Harris published the following rankings on 9 March 2009, explicitly listing teams from first to last. Match scores and points totals were not included.[3]

=== M5 Premiere League ===

{| class="wikitable"
! Place !! Team
|-
| 1 || Evil Saints

Rebellion was listed as “Rebbelion” in the published results.[3]

After a Spank player queried the rankings because the team had played Evil Saints in an afternoon final, Harris clarified that the captains had agreed to determine rankings from eight preliminary games. The subsequent playoffs were informal and did not alter those standings.[4][5]
