The 2007 Millennium Series Toulouse World Cup was a Millennium Series paintball tournament held in Toulouse, France, from 7 to 9 April 2007. It opened the 2007 Millennium Series season.[1][2] Philly Dogs won the professional Champions Paintball League (CPL) competition, ahead of Joy Stockholm, Frankfurt Syndicate and London Nexus. Paris B4 won Division 1.[2][3] == Event == The Toulouse World Cup was the first of five CPL rounds in 2007. The subsequent events took place at the Nürburgring, in London, in Charleroi and at Paris-Disney.[2] A contemporary announcement from tournament sponsor Luxfer Gas Cylinders identified Toulouse as the season opener and gave the dates as 7–9 April. It also documented London Tigers preparing to participate in the Millennium Series.[1] == Champions Paintball League == === Final standings === Philly Dogs finished first and earned 100 championship points. Joy Stockholm took second place for 88 points, Frankfurt Syndicate third for 80 and London Nexus fourth for 72.[2] The archived official CPL ranking table records the following Toulouse placings. The points shown are championship-ranking points, rather than individual match scores.[2] {| class="wikitable" ! Position ! Team ! The team subsequently won at the Nürburgring and Charleroi.[2] Joy Stockholm's second place began a season in which it finished in the top two at every round. Frankfurt Syndicate's third place was matched by another podium finish at the season-ending French Open.[2] Vision PPC Grenoble finished fifth at Toulouse and repeated that placing at the Nürburgring; these were its highest event finishes of the season. Manchester Kellys' 13th place was also its best CPL placing that year.[2] Consilium Dei Zurich began a sequence of three consecutive sixth-place finishes, while the local Toulouse Tontons team finished seventh before reaching third place at the following German round.[2] == Division 1 == Paris B4 won the Division 1 competition. Its team press dossier identifies Toulouse 2007 as a first-place finish in that division and records subsequent results of ninth at the Nürburgring, 20th at Charleroi and third at Paris.[3] The dossier also records Paris B4 finishing fourth in the 2007 Division 1 season standings and moving into the Semi-Professional Paintball League for 2008.[3] == Championship position == As the opening round, Toulouse established the initial CPL championship order. Philly Dogs led with 100 points, followed by Joy Stockholm on 88 and Frankfurt Syndicate on 80.[2] The series continued with the Nürburgring event from 18 to 20 May. Philly Dogs and Joy repeated their first- and second-place finishes there.[2][4] Joy ultimately won the season championship with 464 points. Philly Dogs finished second with 420, while London Nexus took third with 344.[2] == See also == * Millennium Series * 2007 Millennium Series season * 2007 Millennium Series Nürburgring * 2008 Millennium Series Toulouse World Cup == References == # Luxfer-sponsored London Tigers paintball team looks strong for new Millennium Series tournament — Luxfer Gas Cylinders, 6 February 2007; identifies the Toulouse World Cup and dates of 7–9 April. # CPL ranking 2007 — The Millennium Series, archived official event placings and season standings. # B4-Paintball Team: Dossier Presse 2008 — B4 Paintball Team, team press dossier; documents its Toulouse Division 1 victory and 2007 season results. # Millennium Series Nürburgring: Field Previews — WARPIG, event dated 18–20 May 2007.
