2003 Auckland Queen’s Birthday Superball was a seven-player paintball tournament held over Queen’s Birthday weekend at the Extreme Events venue in Auckland, New Zealand. Twelve teams competed in the event, which formed part of the New Zealand Paintball Players Association's “Big Three” series. Phoenix won, followed by Raiders, Saints and Bad Karma.[1] == Organisation and format == Wayne Rolleston was the principal organiser. Competition took place on two airball fields at the Extreme Events venue, which also hosted the monthly Super 5s series. Team Phantom supplied most of the referees.[1] Games used seven players per side, two flags and Millennium rules with local amendments. The format provided for each team to play the other eleven teams once, with the four highest-scoring teams advancing to a further round-robin final stage.[1] == Results == === Preliminary round === Saints led the preliminary competition with 1,076 points. Phoenix secured the fourth qualifying position with 701 points, three ahead of Katipo.[1] {| class="wikitable" ! Position ! Team !
