The 1999 NPPL Dallas Open was a National Professional Paintball League tournament held in Dallas, Texas, from 30 April to 2 May 1999. Organised by Smart Parts, it was the second NPPL tournament of the season. Ten-man competition ran throughout the event, with five-man competition on 1โ2 May.[1] Avalanche won the professional ten-man title, Farside won Amateur A, Hostile Takeover won Amateur B and Da Boyz won the five-man competition.[2][3][4] == Organisation and playing fields == The tournament attracted 46 ten-man teams and 24 five-man teams. Layouts included ravines and brush, level woodland with constructed bunkers, a mound field and a Sup'Air field.[1] The All Americans and OBR refereed ten-man competition, while G-Force officiated the five-man event.[1] == Weather interruption == Strong winds and lightning interrupted play on Sunday morning, halting ten-man semi-finals and five-man preliminary games. The NPPL rules committee considered contingency arrangements while teams waited for conditions to improve.[1] Remaining ten-man games were moved to the mound, cypress and Sup'Air fields. Play resumed after the strongest winds and lightning passed, with finals taking place in light rain and muddy conditions.[1] == Ten-man competition == Lockout led the professional preliminary rankings with 494 points. The semi-finals produced a final comprising Ton Ton Flinguers, Avalanche, the Southern California Ironmen and Lockout.[5][6] Avalanche won with 183 points, securing a second consecutive professional ten-man victory after winning the Las Vegas tournament.[1][2] === Professional final === {| class="wikitable" !
