The 1999 NPPL Boston Open was a National Professional Paintball League ten-man tournament held at S.L.A.M. Paintball in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, from 27 to 29 August 1999. Promoted by Bad Boyz Toyz and DYE Precision, it featured professional, Amateur A and Amateur B divisions.[1] Image won the professional competition, Ground Zero Gold won Amateur A and Saberwolves won Amateur B.[2][3] == Venue and organisation == The Boston tournament replaced the Portland event on the NPPL schedule. Competition used a Hyperball field, a Sup'Air Ball field and two woodland fields.[1] S.L.A.M. Paintball formed part of an entertainment complex that also offered activities including miniature golf, a driving range and batting cages. Spectators could watch Hyperball games from grandstands.[1] Rage and Lockout refereed the tournament. WARPIG reported that limited referee numbers made covering the woodland games particularly demanding.[1] == Competition == Preliminary games took place on Friday and Saturday. A shortage of carbon dioxide briefly delayed Friday morning's play before a delivery allowed the schedule to recover. Light rain affected the afternoon session.[1] All professional entrants advanced to Sunday's semi-finals because of the size of the professional field.[1] === Professional final === Image won with 202 points. The All Americans finished second with 131, two points ahead of Ironmen. Bob Long's Ironmen finished fourth.[2] {| class="wikitable" ! Position !! Team !! Game 1 !! Game 2 !! Game 3 !!
