=== Later developments === During the early 2000s, AGD introduced upgrades intended to improve the Automag platform. The Level 10 bolt system was designed to reduce paintball breakage during feeding, while the X-Valve provided a lighter aluminium alternative to the company's earlier high-performance valve assemblies. The Ultra Light Engineering (ULE) range introduced lighter aluminium marker bodies and other components.[4][9] In 2005, Tom Kaye retired from the paintball industry and the original company's large-scale marker manufacturing operations ceased. However, the Airgun Designs product line did not disappear. Dave Zupan, a former AGD engineer, continued manufacturing and supplying replacement parts through Airgun Designs USA. In 2015, Tim Glavin became involved in retail operations and the continued support of Automag equipment. According to the company's published history, Zupan resumed direct retail operations in 2025, while Glavin continued operating the AGD Custom Shop. The later business continues to support Automag products, including X-Valve components and mechanical marker configurations.[10][11]
