=== Action-sports complex ===

Hollywood Sports Park was originally conceived as a multisport entertainment facility.

The initial development plans included:

* Recreational paintball
* Tournament paintball
* BMX racing
* BMX freestyle
* Skateboarding
* Inline skating
* Rock climbing
* Off-road go-kart racing
* Beach volleyball
* Basketball
* Video arcades
* Restaurants and nightlife facilities

The planned combination of activities reflected the growing popularity of action sports during the late 1990s and early 2000s.[2][7]

The project was intended to attract both participants and spectators.

Not all proposed activities necessarily operated for the same duration or reached the scale described in the original plans.

=== Entertainment facilities ===

The original complex included a central entertainment building containing a pro shop, restaurant and arcade.

An April 2002 WARPIG report described a two-storey arcade sponsored by Namco.

The restaurant and nightclub incorporated film-set materials from ''The Haunting''.

The developers intended the central building to serve as a gathering place for participants in the different sports.[2]

The design reflected the park's ambition to operate as a themed entertainment destination rather than solely as a paintball venue.
