== Regulation of paintball in Western Australia ==

Paintball Skirmish began operating during a period when the legal status of paintball in Western Australia was disputed.

On 17 June 1993, the Western Australian Government announced plans to prohibit paintball, citing concerns about the classification of paintball markers under firearms legislation.[4]

The government subsequently introduced a regulatory framework permitting licensed paintball activities.

On 23 December 2004, the Western Australian Government announced that paintball would be legalised from 1 January 2005, subject to licensing requirements.[5]

Paintball Skirmish's claim to have been the first legally registered operator in 1992 should be understood in the context of these subsequent regulatory developments.

The available sources do not establish the precise legal registration or licensing arrangements under which the business operated before 2005.
