== Level 10 bolt == === Background === One criticism of early Automag designs concerned paintball breakage during feeding. A paintball that had not fully entered the breech could be struck by the advancing bolt. === Development === Airgun Designs developed the '''Level 10''' bolt system to reduce this problem. WARPIG published a detailed technical examination in November 2002.[4] === Operation === The Level 10 used a two-stage bolt movement. During the initial stage, the bolt advanced with reduced force. If it encountered an obstruction, it could stop and reset without completing the firing cycle. If the breech was clear, the mechanism allowed the bolt to continue and fire normally. === Technical significance === The design addressed paintball breakage through mechanical operation rather than relying exclusively on electronic sensors. === Public demonstrations === Kaye demonstrated the reduced initial bolt force in public presentations. These demonstrations became widely discussed within the paintball community. The system was nevertheless a mechanical safety and feeding improvement, not a substitute for normal marker safety procedures.
