=== Battle for Earth (2000) === The December 2000 Grand Finale, titled Battle for Earth, was inspired by the science-fiction novel and film Battlefield Earth. The event involved opposing human and alien forces competing across the Wayne's World playing fields. According to contemporary WARPIG reporting, more than 1,200 players registered for the event, exceeding the attendance records of previous editions. The event included a celebrity mission featuring several notable paintball industry figures, including Bud Orr, Tom Kaye and Ben Tippmann. A Kingman-sponsored costume competition and a paintball industry trade exhibition formed part of the weekend programme.[2]
