=== Development of the Automag === The [[Automag]] was introduced in 1990 following several years of development. It used a regulated air chamber and blow-forward bolt system, with an integrated pressure regulator and stainless-steel valve assembly. Unlike conventional blowback markers, the Automag used gas pressure to move its bolt forward during firing, with a spring returning the bolt to its resting position. The design also incorporated a removable valve assembly and quick-release barrel system. At the 1990 International Masters tournament, AGD-sponsored team [[Swarm]] won using Automags. Kaye identified the result as the first major tournament victory achieved with semiautomatic paintball markers.[1][5] The Automag subsequently became one of the leading tournament markers of the early 1990s, competing principally with the [[Autococker]] manufactured by [[Worr Game Products]].
