== Iron City Classic == === Origins === Montressor founded the [[Iron City Classic]] to revive traditional ten-player tournament paintball. The event combined elements of classic tournament formats with contemporary equipment and professional organisation. The tournament was intended to provide an opportunity for players from different generations to compete together. === First event, 2017 === The inaugural Iron City Classic took place on 29β30 July 2017 at [[Urban Assault Paintball]] in McDonald, Pennsylvania.[4] The venue had historical connections to tournament paintball during the 1990s and early 2000s. The tournament used three types of playing fields: * Woods * Hyperball * Mounds This arrangement reflected the diversity of field types used in earlier ten-player competition. === Mechanical and electronic paintball === The original Iron City Classic brought together teams using different equipment technologies. The event was designed to encourage participation across generations rather than separating players entirely by equipment type. Mechanical paintball subsequently became an increasingly important part of the event's identity. === Second event, 2018 === The second Iron City Classic took place on 4β5 August 2018. A contemporary report by Inception Designs recorded 34 participating teams and more than 600 players.[4] The event attracted former professional players, contemporary professional teams and amateur competitors. The final featured [[San Antonio X-Factor]] against [[Bad Company]]. San Antonio X-Factor won the event. === Tournament organisation === Montressor was closely involved in organising the event. Contemporary accounts described his attention to scheduling, field operations and the player experience. The event became known for bringing together competitors from different periods of paintball history. === 2019 event === The Iron City Classic continued in 2019. PBLeagues records the tournament as taking place from 2β4 August 2019.[11] The event further established the Iron City Classic as a major ten-player tournament. === Influence on paintball === The Iron City Classic helped renew interest in traditional tournament formats. It demonstrated that ten-player paintball could attract both current professional players and veterans of earlier competition. The event also contributed to the broader revival of mechanical tournament paintball.
