=== Sicilian Paintball Cup, 2016 ===

According to a retrospective account published by [[Malta Paintball]], Southclan travelled to Sicily for the Sicilian Paintball Cup in May 2016. The account identifies [[Chris Cioffi]], Jesmond Cioffi and Albert Vella among the Maltese squad. [1]

The event was promoted by the Sicilian Paintball League as a combined speedball and woodsball competition. Its original Facebook listing advertised a two-day programme and identified Paintball Siracusa LoSpazio and Paintball Sicilia League among the hosts. [3]

Malta Paintball's account describes three-player speedball at LoSpazio Siracusa and a woodsball stage advertised for Palazzolo Acreide. It does not provide Southclan's final placing or individual match results. [1]

Contemporary event media includes Paintball Licata footage titled ''Sicilian's Paintball Cup 29-05-2016 – Woodsball Splash!'', published on 30 May 2016. This provides a separate contemporary record of the event, but its title and description do not establish Southclan's roster or result. [4]

In a retrospective post dated 12 October 2026, Malta Paintball described the 2016 visit to Siracusa as Southclan's first overseas tournament. The post again identified Chris Cioffi, Jesmond Cioffi and Albert Vella. This description concerns the team's overseas competition history rather than its founding date. [5]
