=== Establishment (2008) === DLX Technology Group was established in 2008 as a premium brand associated with Smart Parts, the Pennsylvania paintball equipment manufacturer founded by Bill Gardner and Adam Gardner. According to DLX's official history, Smart Parts created a separate marketing organisation for the Luxe to provide a different customer experience from its existing marker lines.[2] The original Luxe was released in 2008 and was displayed at the PSP World Cup at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Kissimmee, Florida, from 22 to 26 October. Contemporary [[WARPIG]] reporting described DLX as a subsidiary of Smart Parts launched earlier that year.[1] The Luxe incorporated several features intended to distinguish it from other electronic tournament markers, including: * An internally routed air supply without an exposed external hose. * Tool-free removal of the bolt assembly and ball detents. * Electronic voice feedback. * Rechargeable battery technology. * Electronic settings accessible through an integrated control interface. The voice system supported English, Spanish, French, German and Russian.[1] DLX demonstrated the marker's maintenance features at the World Cup through a timed disassembly competition.[1]
