== Formats and Champions Cup == Professional X-Ball used 15-minute matches with a six-point mercy rule. WNXL, Semi-Professional and Division 2 used 15-minute matches with a five-point mercy rule. Divisions 3 and 4 used 12-minute matches with a four-point mercy rule, while Division 5 and Masters used ten-minute matches with a three-point mercy rule.[1] The professional field comprised 24 teams. Red Legion, San Antonio X-Factor, Houston Heat and SCALP formed the four-team championship bracket and qualified directly for the quarter-finals. The other 20 teams contested four preliminary brackets, with the top two from each advancing to an elimination round that supplied the remaining four quarter-finalists.[4] Semi-Professional and Divisions 2β5 also had four-team championship brackets whose members qualified directly for their respective quarter-finals.[4] The World Cup event championship was distinct from the season championship. World Cup awarded double ranking points, and the professional season standings incorporated all four preceding majors and World Cup.[3][5]
