Editing Malaysian Paintball Federation (section)

=== 2017 legal notification ===

On 26 January 2017, Malaysia's Minister of Home Affairs issued a notification under section 60 of the Arms Act 1960 concerning paintball equipment. The notification came into force on 1 February 2017.[6]

It provided a conditional exemption for qualifying paintball equipment and members of registered paintball sporting bodies under the Sports Development Act 1997. It also set requirements concerning paintball markers, barrels, compressed-gas tanks, paintballs, registration and equipment identification.[6]

The notification represented a documented change in the legal treatment of qualifying paintball equipment. It should not be attributed solely to the 2010 federation initiative without evidence directly connecting the federation to the government's decision.
