== Relationship with Tippmann ==

BT Paintball and [[Tippmann Sports]] were separate businesses despite their shared connection through Ben Tippmann.

Their products competed in the recreational and scenario paintball markets.

BT's early mechanical markers used operating principles similar to those found in Tippmann's established blowback models.

The companies became involved in a legal dispute over intellectual property and branding during the mid-2000s.

A federal case filed in November 2004 identified Tippmann Pneumatics and related businesses as plaintiffs, with BT Paintball Designs, Ben Tippmann and National Paintball Supply among the defendants.[9]

The litigation should not be interpreted as proof of infringement without reference to its findings or settlement terms.

BT continued marketing its marker range under the Battle Tested identity.
