== Historical significance == The WCPL forms part of the revival of traditional tournament paintball formats during the 2020s. Its competitions provide opportunities for players to participate in woodland and earth-mound tournaments using rules based on earlier forms of organised paintball. The involvement of promoters including Fred Schultz and Jim Lively connects the league with individuals who organised and participated in national tournaments during the sport's formative decades. The WCPL has also provided a competition structure for established and returning teams interested in classic-format paintball.
