Russian Legion played a significant role in establishing Russian teams as major competitors in international professional paintball.

Its success demonstrated that an organisation developed outside the established American tournament system could compete for and win major professional championships in the United States.

The team's training and coaching programme, particularly under Sergei Leontiev and Maxim Preobrazhenskiy, became an important feature of its development. [2]

The Russian Paintball Federation also identifies the Russian Legion training centre as a venue used for national coaching, refereeing and player development programmes from 2010 onwards. [6]

The organisation has maintained its competitive presence across several generations of professional paintball, transitioning from European seven-player tournaments to early X-Ball, PSP competition and the modern NXL. [3]
