European tournament paintball
European paintball developed through national competitions and international events during the 1980s and 1990s.

In 1999, the Millennium Series established a coordinated European tournament circuit.

The series brought together leading European and international teams, organising competitions across several countries.

The 2000 Millennium Series 7-Man World Cup in Toulouse, France, attracted teams from Europe, North America and South Africa.

The event demonstrated the development of spectator-oriented tournament presentation, with stadium seating, inflatable playing fields and international media coverage.[9]

The Millennium Series operated until 2017, when its organisers reached an agreement with the National Xball League to establish NXL Europe from 2018.[10]
