Formation and divisional competition (2016–2021)
PaintballFIT was established in 2016 by JD Luckau and his sons, operating from the family's Paintball Fit facility in Waxahachie, Texas.[1]

The team drew players from the local Texas tournament community, including competitors involved in the United States X-Ball League (USXBL).

In a 2019 interview published by G.I. Sportz, Johnny Luckau described the organisation as comprising four brothers and other players from the Paintball Fit programme.

The team trained alongside established Texas squads, including AC Dallas, AC Diesel and Texas Outlaws.[2]

PaintballFIT's official NXL records document the team winning Division 4 X-Ball tournaments at Las Vegas, Texas and Chicago in 2018.

The following season, PaintballFIT won Division 3 X-Ball tournaments at Las Vegas, Texas, Philadelphia and the 2019 World Cup.[3]

The team subsequently progressed into higher divisions, including professional competition, before returning to Semi-Pro.[4]

Semi-Professional competition (2022–2023)
PaintballFIT returned to the NXL Semi-Professional division for the 2022 season.

The team won the opening Sunshine State Major in Kissimmee, Florida, defeating Austin Notorious 5–2 in the final.

Colt Luckau captained the team during the tournament and was identified by the NXL as a central player in its victory.[4]

PaintballFIT finished second at the 2022 World Cup.

The following season, the team achieved an unprecedented run of results in the NXL Semi-Professional division.

PaintballFIT won all five tournaments of the 2023 season, defeating Blast Camp in each event final.

The team completed the season with a 33–2 match record, winning the overall Semi-Professional championship and securing promotion to the professional division for 2024.

The NXL described the achievement as the first five-event undefeated tournament campaign in its modern X-Ball history.[5]

Professional World Cup championship (2024)
PaintballFIT returned to the NXL professional division in 2024.

The team's first four tournaments produced mixed results, including seventh place at the Windy City Major.

At the 2024 NXL World Cup in Kissimmee, Florida, PaintballFIT won the professional championship in its first season following promotion from Semi-Pro.[3]

The victory represented the organisation's first professional World Cup title.

PaintballFIT finished sixth overall in the 2024 NXL professional season standings, with 802 championship points.[6]

Professional season championship (2025)
PaintballFIT established itself among the leading American professional teams during the 2025 NXL season.

The team won the opening Tampa Bay Open in March and followed with victory at the Atlantic City Open in May.

PaintballFIT subsequently finished fifth at the Midwest Open and seventh at the Lone Star Open.

At the season-ending World Cup in November, PaintballFIT reached the professional final against Tampa Bay Damage.

Damage won the match 4–2, leaving PaintballFIT in second place.[7][8]

Despite losing the World Cup final, PaintballFIT secured the overall 2025 NXL professional season championship.

The team finished first with 1,052 championship points, ahead of Red Legion on 984 and San Antonio X-Factor on 937.[7]
