== History == === Establishment and early coverage === A profile republished by NoMercy Paintball Club in October 2009 stated that MAPAAC had been founded in 2006 by professional event organisers with more than 15 years of combined experience. The profile described it as one of Malaysia's larger paintball service providers and identified its activities as recreational games, training, tournaments and corporate events.[1] The earliest detailed surviving coverage located for this article dates from 2007. A September report described night paintball and team training at the academy. It identified the venue as being in Petaling Jaya and listed WY Wei as its contact.[2] MAPAAC was also used by the Malaysian National Paintball League. The MY-NPL 2007 season grand finale was held at the academy in November, with competition organised across four divisions.[4] A seven-player tournament associated with MY-NPL was held at MAPAAC on 30 December.[5] These records document activity from 2007 but should not be interpreted as establishing an opening date. The academy's own later profile gives 2006 as its year of establishment.[1] === 2008 season === MAPAAC hosted Malaysian National Paintball League competition during 2008. The opening round was scheduled for 23 and 24 February, while the third round was held at the academy on 31 May and 1 June.[6] The academy was also used for recreational and private-group paintball. A March 2008 event notice advertised rental packages, unlimited field use, a player preparation tent, parking, toilets, drinks and wireless internet access.[7] From 29 to 31 August, MAPAAC hosted the [[Malaysian Super7 Championship|Malaysian Super7 β08]]. The competition was presented by Nemesis Paintball Club as an official MY-NPL feeder event and used seven-player competition.[8] The fifth MY-NPL round and season finale returned to MAPAAC in November. Published results recorded 83 teams across four league divisions and a special media division.[9] === 2009 season === MY-NPL headquarters and MAPAAC jointly announced the proposed 2009 league calendar. The schedule placed both the opening round and season finale at the academy, with other rounds in Johor Bahru, Kuantan and Malacca.[10] The opening event took place over 13β15 February, including field inspection and a captains' meeting before the competition days. Division 1 used a seven-player format, while the other divisions retained five-player competition.[11] MAPAAC was associated with the wider programme of MY-NPL feeder events, including the International Super Seven Championship. The 2009 championship itself was held at Dataran Petaling Jaya rather than at MAPAAC's regular Kompleks Sukan Astaka site.[10] === 2010β2012 activities === MAPAAC continued to host tournament paintball after 2009. The fourth event of the 2010 Malaysian National Paintball League was held at the academy in August.[12] From 8 to 10 October, the venue hosted the second Malaysian Super Lite competition. The tournament was organised by Nemesis Paintball Club and MY-NPL and used a Race-to-3 format.[13] MAPAAC also hosted events outside the principal national leagues. The seventh KAG Paintball Challenge, organised by the Kelab AmBank Group, was held at the academy in 2011 and involved 336 participants representing 48 teams.[14] The opening round of the 2012 Malaysian National Paintball League was held at MAPAAC in February. The event attracted 41 teams and introduced Race-to competition into that season's MY-NPL format.[3] Gamuda reported holding its 2012 Paintball Championship in partnership with the Malaysian Paintball Academy in Petaling Jaya.[15] The KAG Paintball Challenge returned on 15 December 2012, with 39 teams taking part.[16] These records demonstrate continued documented activity through December 2012. They do not establish when MAPAAC subsequently ceased operating or whether some form of the facility continued beyond the surviving coverage.
