== Professional career == === Early Russian Legion career === According to a profile published by Iconic Paintball, Smotrov joined Russian Legion at the age of 15. [1] He was named in the organisation's January 2014 roster announcement, issued as Moscow Red Legion combined players with Toulouse TonTons for American competition. The announcement placed him in a squad coached by Alexey Soloviev, alongside players including Kirill Prikhidni, Denis Golev, Kevin Coulm and Fabrice Colombo. The club described the roster as part of a three-year development strategy. [4] === NXL competition === Smotrov was a member of Moscow Red Legion's runner-up roster at the 2016 NXL World Cup, where the team lost the professional final to Edmonton Impact. [5] In June 2017, he helped Moscow Red Legion win the NXL Atlantic City Open. The team defeated Tampa Bay Damage 4-3 in the professional final. [6] At the 2019 NXL Texas Open, Smotrov was part of the Moscow Red Legion team that defeated ac Dallas 6-1 in the final. He received the event's Golden Barrel award, presented to the tournament's outstanding individual player. [3][7] === Later competition === Smotrov was on Red Legion's winning roster at the 2025 NXL Midwest Open. The team defeated Edmonton Impact in the quarter-finals and San Antonio X-Factor in the semi-finals before beating TonTon FSU 5-3 in the final. [8] Red Legion continued to list Smotrov on its official professional roster in 2026, wearing number 27. [9]
