== History ==

=== Establishment ===

Canyon Paintball was established in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, near the One Utama shopping centre.

The facility occupies a hillside site at Changkat Bukit Utama.

The exact founding date and original ownership structure have not been established from the available historical sources.

However, PBLeagues records identify Canyon Paintball as the home field of Malaysian tournament teams registered in January and September 2013. [3]

These records establish the venue's association with organised competitive paintball by the early 2010s.

=== Development as a recreational and competitive facility ===

Canyon Paintball developed as a venue serving both recreational customers and experienced tournament players.

Its facilities included extensive outdoor playing terrain and dedicated competitive paintball fields.

The venue offered private games, group bookings, corporate team-building activities, birthday parties, scenario paintball and tournament training.

Its website described more than 20 acres of outdoor playing terrain, including two fields dedicated to competitive paintball. [1]

This combination of recreational and competitive facilities enabled the venue to serve new participants while supporting established tournament teams.

=== Development during the late 2010s ===

By the late 2010s, Canyon Paintball had become closely associated with international X-Ball competition in Malaysia.

The venue was involved in the promotion of [[NXL Asia]], which organised tournaments in Malacca, Penang and Johor Bahru.

Canyon's website published event information, training footage, photographs and videos from the 2018 and 2019 NXL Asia seasons. [4]

The venue also supported teams preparing for international competitions.

=== Activity during the 2020s ===

Canyon Paintball continued to be associated with competitive paintball during the 2020s.

The facility's public announcements document involvement with the [[Malaysian X-Ball League]].

A social media announcement dated 2 October 2023 celebrated the completion of that year's MXBL season and described plans to improve the competition for 2024. [5]

Additional posts documented tournament field layouts and training activity.

In January 2026, Canyon Paintball Malaysia promoted the opening round of the 2026 MXBL season at the facility. [5]

Further public announcements during 2026 documented recreational operations and plans for friendly speedball competition. [6]

These records establish continued activity at Canyon Paintball in 2026.
