The contemporary event preview described the 10-player competition as a mechanical-marker, capture-the-flag format culminating in a three-team round-robin final. Preliminary games included matches between professional and amateur teams, although the divisions had separate final standings.[2][4]

Competition used the venue's Hyperball, Trench and Deep Woods fields.[4][5]
