VForce
VForce, also styled V-Force, is a paintball protective-equipment brand specialising in goggles and integrated eye and face protection. Introduced at the 2000 Paintball World Cup, VForce originated from the Canadian eyewear manufacturer Leader Industries and was initially distributed through Diablo Direct.[1]
The brand became known for its curved lenses, wide fields of vision and quick-change lens systems. Its products have included the Shield, Morph, Profiler, Grill, Vantage and Armor ranges.[1][2]
VForce subsequently became associated with Procaps and later GI Sportz, which continues to market VForce protective equipment.[3][4]
History
[edit]Origins
[edit]VForce originated from the paintball goggle manufacturing activities of Leader Industries, a Canadian company that produced protective eyewear for several sports.
During the late 1990s, Leader manufactured paintball goggles distributed under the Brass Eagle brand.
These included the Eagle Vision system, which incorporated a distinctive vertically curved lens intended to provide a wide field of vision.
Following Brass Eagle's acquisition of JT USA, the company changed its goggle supply arrangements.
Leader subsequently developed the VForce brand to market its paintball eye and face protection independently.[1][2]
Introduction (2000)
[edit]VForce was formally introduced at the 2000 Paintball World Cup in Orlando, Florida.
The brand initially offered three goggle systems, including the Shield and Morph.
The Shield developed from an earlier Leader design, while the Morph incorporated a flexible lower face mask.
The products emphasised rapid lens removal, curved lenses and integrated eye and face protection.
VForce was initially distributed and promoted by Diablo Direct, a distribution organisation associated with Canadian paintball manufacturer Procaps.[1]
Procaps ownership
[edit]Procaps acquired the VForce trademark and associated manufacturing moulds from Leader Industries around 2001–2002.
The acquisition was conducted through Airtech Innovations, a business associated with Procaps Encapsulation.
In March 2005, the VForce trademark became an asset of Procaps L.P.[3]
During the mid-2000s, Procaps supplied VForce goggles through its distribution arrangements with National Paintball Supply.
Following the termination of that arrangement in 2005, Procaps Direct became responsible for distributing the products.
United States court records from 2009 identify Vision 2 International as the manufacturer of several VForce goggle models, including the Armor, Shield, Vantage, Profiler and Grill.[3]
Profiler (2004)
[edit]The VForce Profiler was introduced in 2004.
It incorporated a wide, curved lens and a compact integrated mask designed to provide a broad field of vision.
The Profiler retained the quick-change lens arrangement associated with earlier VForce products.
In a contemporary technical review published in April 2004, WARPIG examined the mask's construction, lens arrangement and development from the Shield and Morph systems.[2]
The Profiler became one of the brand's established tournament and recreational goggle models.
Grill (2006)
[edit]VForce introduced the Grill in 2006.
The Grill incorporated a smaller profile and distinctive angular design.
It retained the brand's curved-lens construction and rapid lens-change arrangements.
WARPIG reviewed the Grill in November 2006, describing its relationship to the earlier Profiler and the wider VForce goggle range.[5]
The Grill subsequently developed into a continuing product family, including the Grill 2.0.
GI Sportz
[edit]The VForce brand became part of the GI Sportz product portfolio following the acquisition of Procaps assets in December 2011.
GI Sportz subsequently marketed VForce goggles alongside other paintball equipment brands, including JT.
The original Profiler remained commercially available for many years after its introduction.
In 2025, VForce introduced the Profiler 2.0, an updated version of the established mask design.
The Profiler 2.0 continued to appear in GI Sportz product listings during 2026.[4][6]

Design
[edit]VForce protective equipment is associated with several recurring design features.
Curved lenses
[edit]Early Leader and VForce goggles incorporated vertically curved lenses.
The design was intended to reduce visual distortion when looking upwards or downwards by maintaining a more consistent relationship between the lens surface and the wearer's eyes.[5]
Lens replacement
[edit]VForce developed lens-retention systems that allowed lenses to be removed without the extensive disassembly required by some earlier paintball goggles.
The system was promoted during the brand's introduction at the 2000 Paintball World Cup.
Later products, including the Profiler and Grill, continued to incorporate quick-change lens arrangements.[1][2][5]
Integrated protection
[edit]VForce products generally combine eye protection with face and ear coverage.
The precise construction varies between models, including the use of rigid and flexible lower-mask components.
Different models were developed for recreational, commercial-field and tournament applications.
Relationship with other paintball brands
[edit]VForce's history involves several separate companies.
Leader Industries developed the original eyewear technology and introduced the VForce brand.
Diablo Direct initially distributed VForce products.
Procaps subsequently acquired the trademark and associated assets.
Vision 2 International was identified in legal proceedings as a manufacturer of VForce goggles during the mid-2000s.
GI Sportz later incorporated VForce into its equipment portfolio.[1][3][4]
These relationships distinguish the brand's ownership and distribution from the manufacture of individual products.
