The '''Penrith stadium paintball demonstration''' was a promotional exhibition staged before a rugby league match between Penrith Panthers and St George Dragons in Australia. A report published in January 1996 records that the demonstration took place on 9 July before a crowd of 10,541 spectators.[1]

[[Welf Herfurth]] and players from HEAT worked with [[Top Hat Jokers]] and Paintball Australia to organise the demonstration. Penrith Panthers promotions manager Andreas Klein supported the proposal to stage paintball as a curtain-raiser to the rugby league match.[1]

Top Hat Jokers supplied referees and additional players. Neil Carpenter of Brayton Paintball served as head referee, announcing decisions over the stadium’s public-address system.[1]

Players were assigned to teams wearing Penrith Panthers and St George Dragons jerseys. The temporary playing field used boundary tape and plastic barrels as cover.[1]

Three six-minute games were played. The organisers had a 36-minute interval between reserve grade and first grade to assemble the field, introduce the players, conduct the games and clear the playing surface. Markers were limited to 170 feet per second for spectator safety.[1]

The team wearing Panthers jerseys won the opening game, while the team representing St George won the second. The report does not identify the winner of the deciding game.[1]
