Dementia is a tournament paintball film produced by Productions, documenting the 2009 season of Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) in the United States. The film combines professional tournament footage with commentary from 20 players, focusing on the competitive demands of X-Ball paintball.[1]

The production also includes bonus coverage of the Australian Super 7 Series from 2009 and 2010.[1]

Content
Dementia documents professional paintball competition under the PSP's Race-to-7 format, combining match highlights with player commentary and music-driven editing.

The film examines the pressure experienced by tournament players, including the physical demands of competition, time constraints between points and the importance of discipline during matches.[1]

Tournament coverage
The DVD features footage from four PSP tournaments held during the 2009 season:[1]

* Phoenix Open
* Chicago Open
* Mid-Atlantic Open (MAO)
* 2009 Paintball World Cup

The production features commentary from 20 professional players, although the original retail description does not identify them individually.[1]

Bonus features
The DVD includes several additional features:[1]

* On the Short Bus, Episode 7: Approximately 18 minutes of material from DerDer's recurring comedy and behind-the-scenes series.
* Super 7 Masters 2009: Footage from the Australian Super 7 tournament circuit.
* Super 7 2010 Event 1: Additional Australian tournament coverage.
* RAZA commercials: Promotional material for the paintball clothing manufacturer.
* Bunker Insurance commercial: Promotional material for another DerDer production.

Soundtrack
Dementia uses music-driven tournament sequences characteristic of DerDer Productions' filmmaking style.

The original retail description specifically promotes the film's aggressive soundtrack, but does not identify individual artists or song titles.[1]

Production and release
Dementia was produced by DerDer Productions, continuing the company's coverage of professional tournament paintball.

On 26 July 2010, a promotional announcement for Planet Eclipse's ETV coverage of the 2010 NPPL Chicago Open advertised a trailer for the forthcoming Dementia film. This establishes that the production was being promoted by July 2010.[2]

The DVD was subsequently distributed through paintball retailers including ANSgear and Paintball-Land.[1][3]

Although the film covers the 2009 PSP season, its bonus features include competition from 2010. The precise commercial release date has not been independently established.

Availability
Dementia is included in the DerDer classic paintball video collection hosted by BKi Paintball. The collection makes several historical DerDer productions available for viewing.[4]
