Bonkers Paintball was a recreational paintball business in Malta documented during the 2010s. A Maltese company named Bonkers Paintball Ltd was incorporated on 29 September 2011, while surviving online records document paintball activity under the Bonkers name and its use as a corporate team-building venue. [1][2][3]

The precise location of its playing field, opening date and final operating date have not been established.

History
Company formation
Bonkers Paintball Ltd was registered in Malta on 29 September 2011 under company registration number C 53989. [1]

Historical company directories identify Thomas Robert West as a director and list Thomas Robert West and Christopher Ellerby-Hemmings as shareholders. [1]

The company's registered address was at Dallas Apartments, Triq il-Qawra, St Paul's Bay. [1][2]

This was its registered business address and has not been independently confirmed as the location of the paintball playing field.

Early documented activity
A YouTube video titled "Adrenaline Wibbly Wobbly Bonkers Paintball War.wmv", published on 18 October 2011, identifies Bonkers Paintball in Malta in its description. [3]

The video provides an early surviving audiovisual reference to the business shortly after the registered company's incorporation.

Its publication date establishes the availability of the recording by October 2011, but does not necessarily establish the date on which the game was played.

Recreational and corporate paintball
Bonkers Paintball offered recreational paintball activities and was used for corporate team-building events.

A surviving Facebook post by Servgroup describes a team-building event at the Bonkers paintball site. [4]

The post confirms a connection between the Bonkers name and an actual paintball playing venue, although its original event date has not been independently established.

A photograph circulated by the Maltese social media page Only in Malta also documents signage associated with Bonkers Paintball. The accompanying caption describes the business as being located beside a mental health service. [5]

The photograph is an additional historical reference to the business, but does not independently establish its precise street address or the boundaries of its playing area.

Playing facilities
Bonkers Paintball operated a venue used for recreational paintball games and group activities.

The surviving video and corporate event references establish paintball activity associated with the business, but available records do not provide a reliable description of the playing field's dimensions, obstacle configuration or equipment inventory.

There is also no verified record of Bonkers hosting a recognised national or international paintball tournament.

Later history
Commercial company-directory records subsequently listed Bonkers Paintball Ltd as struck off as defunct. [1]

The original company-register filing establishing the date and legal circumstances of this status has not been independently recovered.

The company's legal status should therefore be distinguished from the operational history of the playing field. The precise date when the venue stopped accepting customers has not been established.

Historical significance
Bonkers Paintball forms part of the documented commercial paintball industry in Malta during the early 2010s.

Its incorporation and contemporary video evidence place it among the businesses associated with recreational paintball during a period when several operators, including Extreme Paintball (Ta' Qali), Spear Games Paintball and Paintball Mania, were active or developing their facilities.

The surviving corporate event reference also illustrates the use of paintball for recreational group activities and team-building in Malta.

The exact relationship between Bonkers Paintball Ltd and the playing site, including its ownership, location and operating period, remains an area for further historical research.
