American professional paintball player

Alex Goldman, commonly known as Mouse, is an American professional paintball player who has competed in the Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) and National Xball League (NXL). Known primarily for playing the snake position, Goldman has represented several leading professional teams, including San Diego Aftermath, San Diego Dynasty, the Los Angeles Ironmen, Los Angeles Infamous, Edmonton Impact and Tampa Bay Damage.[1][2][3]

Goldman won multiple professional championships with Dynasty and Impact and received the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the 2022 NXL Windy City Major. He subsequently won the event MVP award at the 2026 NXL Mid-Atlantic Open while playing for Tampa Bay Damage.[4][5]

Playing career
San Diego Aftermath and early professional competition
Goldman developed his professional career in Southern California, playing for San Diego Aftermath, a team established by Mike Hinman.

A contemporary February 2009 roster published by SEBURO identified Goldman among Aftermath's professional players, alongside Steven Pitts, Zack Wake, Bobby Aviles and Chris LaSoya.[6]

The team competed in the PSP and NPPL professional divisions during this period.

Goldman also had an early association with the Los Angeles Ironmen before moving to San Diego Dynasty.[7]

San Diego Dynasty (2010–2012)
In September 2010, Goldman joined San Diego Dynasty for the NPPL Las Vegas tournament and PSP World Cup.

Contemporary reporting identified Goldman as a former Aftermath and Ironmen player who had also briefly played for Dynasty in 2007.[7]

Goldman became a regular part of Dynasty's roster during the 2011 season.

The team won four consecutive professional tournaments that year, with Goldman contributing to its successful campaign.[8]

His performances attracted attention from other professional organisations.

Goldman briefly stepped away from competition after 2011 before returning to Dynasty during 2012.

Later that year, he joined Tampa Bay Damage for the PSP World Cup, reaching the professional final against Houston Heat.

In November 2012, Damage announced that Goldman had signed a one-year agreement for the following season.[8]

Los Angeles Ironmen (2013–2014)
Despite the earlier agreement with Damage, Goldman joined the Los Angeles Ironmen ahead of the 2013 season.

The move was confirmed in January 2013 following reports that he had considered joining Edmonton Impact.

Goldman explained that he had decided to return to the Ironmen, with whom he had previously played.[9]

He remained with the Ironmen through the 2014 season, competing in PSP professional X-Ball.

The team finished third in the 2014 PSP professional season standings.[10]

Los Angeles Infamous (2015)
In January 2015, Goldman left the Ironmen and joined Los Angeles Infamous.

In an interview published by Social Paintball on 31 January, he explained that financial considerations influenced his decision to change teams.

Goldman also cited his existing relationships with players on the Infamous roster.[11]

He competed with Infamous during the inaugural season of the re-established NXL.

Edmonton Impact (2016–2021)
On 27 October 2015, Paintball Media reported that Goldman had left Infamous and agreed to join Edmonton Impact for the following season.

Impact owner Bart Yachimec described Goldman's recruitment as an addition intended to strengthen the team's offensive play.[12]

Goldman joined a roster that included established professional players such as Justin Rabackoff, Tyler Harmon and members of the Yachimec family.

Impact won the professional division at the 2016 and 2017 NXL World Cups.

Goldman was an important member of the team's 2017 campaign.

An NXL retrospective of the 2017 Chicago Open identified his performance on the snake side as a significant factor in Impact's tournament victory.

The team went on to win the 2017 World Cup and overall professional season championship.[13]

Goldman continued with Edmonton Impact through the 2021 season.

Latin Saints and return to Impact (2022)
In January 2022, Goldman joined the newly established professional roster of Latin Saints.

The team's owner, Diego Santos, confirmed the signing, which was part of a broader recruitment programme involving several established professional players.[14]

Goldman's time with Latin Saints was brief.

In May 2022, he and Justin Rabackoff left the organisation and returned to Edmonton Impact.[15]

Goldman subsequently helped Impact win the 2022 NXL Windy City Major.

In the professional final against Russian Legion, he played as an attacking player on the Dorito side of the field.

His performance earned him the event's MVP award and the Golden Barrel award presented by Carbon Paintball and GoSports.[4]

The achievement demonstrated his ability to compete effectively outside his customary snake-side position.

ac DIESEL (2023–2025)
Goldman joined ac DIESEL for the 2023 NXL season.

The move reunited him with several players who had previously competed together, including Kyle Spicka, Alex Rodriguez and Justin Rabackoff.

The NXL's 2023 preseason coverage identified Goldman as a key member of the team's newly assembled professional roster.[16]

He continued competing with ac DIESEL during 2024 and the first three events of 2025.

Official PBLeagues records confirm his participation with the team at the 2025 Tampa Bay Open, Atlantic City Open and Midwest Open.[17]

In July 2025, Goldman left ac DIESEL and joined Tampa Bay Damage.

The move was reported by specialist paintball media the following month.[18]

Tampa Bay Damage (2025–present)
Goldman returned to Tampa Bay Damage during the 2025 NXL season.

He made his first recorded appearance for the team that season at the Lone Star Open in September and continued with Damage at the November World Cup.[17]

Goldman remained with Damage for the 2026 season.

At the NXL Mid-Atlantic Open, held in Dover, Delaware, from 30 April to 3 May 2026, Damage won the professional championship.

Goldman received the tournament's event MVP award, while teammate Keith Brown received Finals MVP recognition.[5]

Goldman discussed his performance and preparation in an interview published on 7 May 2026 by the Play The Game podcast.[19]

Damage subsequently won the 2026 Lone Star Open in Garland, Texas, in September.

Goldman competed in six matches at the event, recording 28 point victories, 13 defeats and three draws in the published player statistics.[17]

As of October 2026, Goldman remained registered with Tampa Bay Damage for professional NXL competition.

Playing style
Goldman is primarily associated with the snake, the low, elongated bunker formation commonly used along the sideline of an inflatable-bunker paintball field.

His playing style has been characterised by aggressive movement, rapid advancement and the ability to exploit narrow shooting angles.

In its retrospective coverage of the 2017 Chicago Open, the NXL credited Goldman's ability to survive difficult moves and advance on the snake side as a major factor in Edmonton Impact's victory.[13]

Goldman has also played other positions.

At the 2022 Windy City Major, he operated as Impact's lead Dorito-side attacker and received the tournament MVP award.[4]

His experience across multiple playing positions has contributed to his use by professional teams in different offensive roles.
