New page

The '''2026 WCPL Hate City Open''', initially listed in the league calendar as the '''Hate City Classic''', was a ten-player mechanical-marker woodsball tournament held at '''Tallapoosa Paintball''' in '''Tallapoosa, Georgia'''. The organiser's retrospective record and contemporary magazine coverage identify the event period as '''17–19 April 2026''', while advance announcements advertised 18–19 April.[1][2][3][4]

Twelve teams competed, and The Misfits won the inaugural tournament.[2][4][5]

== Title and WCPL relationship ==

The [[World Classic Paintball League]]'s February 2026 calendar announced a '''Hate City Classic 10-man''' in Georgia.[1]

The venue's event publicity and subsequent reports used '''Hate City Open'''. Tallapoosa Paintball identified the competition with the WCPL format and thanked the league for its involvement.[2][3]

== Dates and venue ==

The WCPL calendar and Tallapoosa Paintball's advance announcement listed '''18–19 April 2026'''. The organiser's retrospective event page and Paintball Media's May report describe the event period as '''17–19 April'''.[1][2][3][4]

These sources do not provide a sufficiently detailed daily programme to establish the role of Friday, 17 April.

The venue was '''Tallapoosa Paintball, 830 Steadman Road, Tallapoosa, Georgia'''.[2][3]

== Format and playing fields ==

The event used '''ten-player teams''' and '''mechanical markers''' in woodland competition.[2][3]

The organiser identified two playing areas as the '''DEFY Field''' and '''Planet Eclipse Field''', with finals taking place on Sunday.[2]

Paintball Media described large fields combining thick woodland with constructed bunkers. Its report noted that flag hangs were uncommon and that many games were decided by elimination counts.[4]

== Competition ==

Twelve teams attended. Documented participants included The Misfits, Image, Adrenaline and APC Savages.[4]

Paintball Media reported that Image and APC Savages were tied after the preliminary competition and played another head-to-head game to determine advancement to the finals.[4]

== Results ==

The organiser identified '''The Misfits''' as the inaugural champions. A report published by Paintball Dirt on 20 April independently confirmed their victory.[2][5]
A complete final standings table, lower placings and individual match scores remain unconfirmed.

== Calendar position ==

The Hate City event opened the WCPL's published 2026 United States calendar.[1]

The next announced event was the [[2026 WCPL Panhandle Classic]], scheduled for '''13–14 June 2026''' at '''Panhandle Paintball''' in '''Holt, Florida'''.[1]
