The '''2023 WCPL Panhandle Classic''', promoted as the '''Panhandle Paintball Classic''' and recorded by PBLeagues as the '''Florida Open''', was a paintball tournament held on '''1–2 April 2023''' at '''Panhandle Paintball''' in '''Holt, Florida'''. It was the second event of the [[World Classic Paintball League]]'s 2023 season.[1][2][3]

Juggernauts won the ten-team open ten-player competition, followed by Revolution and Team Crowley WCPL.[4][5]

== Name and organisation ==

The WCPL's registration announcement identified the tournament as the Panhandle Paintball Classic. A subsequent league preview explicitly linked the Panhandle event to its Florida Open registration page, confirming that the two names described the same tournament.[1][3]

The event was hosted by Dan Colby and Steve Preskill at Panhandle Paintball.[1]

== Venue ==

PBLeagues listed the venue at '''4428 Cooper Lane, Holt, Florida'''.[2]

Before the tournament, the WCPL published photographs of the mounds field intended for competition. The preview described its elevation changes and shooting angles and announced a maximum entry of 18 teams.[3]

The final results contain ten ranked teams.[4]

== Format ==

PBLeagues listed the competition as '''Open 10v10 (Sat–Sun)''', with '''12-minute games'''. Its registration record showed ten teams signed up and paid.[2]

The WCPL's contemporary competition guidance described ten-player capture-the-flag games in which teams attempted to capture the opposing flag and return it to their own base. The guidance permitted electronic markers limited to 5.5 balls per second alongside mechanical markers.[6]

The event's published final standings contain one open ten-player division.[4]

== Results ==

Juggernauts finished first, Revolution second and Team Crowley WCPL third.[4]

The WCPL subsequently published a profile of the Pensacola Juggernauts identifying their Panhandle victory. Its Team Crowley profile independently recorded Crowley's third-place finish.[5][7]

The next announced United States event was the [[2023 WCPL New York Classic]], scheduled for '''9–11 June 2023''' at '''Paintball Sports New York''' in Clintondale, New York. The league identified the opening day as a field-walking day.[8]
