The '''2022 ICPL Sunshine Classic''' was an [[International Classic Paintball League]] tournament held at [[Thunder Valley Paintball Park]] in Seffner, Florida, United States, from 28 to 30 January 2022. The open five-player competition was scheduled for Friday, 28 January. Professional and amateur 10-player competition followed on Saturday and Sunday, 29–30 January.[1]

== Professional roster restrictions ==

The event followed a change to the league's restrictions on NXL professional-ranked players.

Contemporary reporting published on 5 November 2021 recorded a vote by 23 ICPL professional team captains. By 14 votes to nine, the captains supported limiting professional teams to three NXL professional-ranked players, with players over the age of 44 excluded from that count.[3]

The previous arrangement had allowed an unrestricted number of professional-ranked players provided their combined classification points did not exceed 62,000. A separate vote retained the existing mechanical-marker rate-of-fire rules by 17 votes to six.[3]

Chicago Aftershock won ahead of Team Smoke and Kapp Factory. Aftershock scored 98 points in each of its two final-round games, accumulating 196 points. Team Smoke finished with 97 and Kapp Factory with 18.[2][4]

Saberwolves won the amateur final round with 192 points, ahead of Valhalla on 105 and TRIBE Savages on 16.[2][4]

ac POWERHOUSE won the open five-player final round with 198 points. Florida Annihilators finished second with 92, followed by AFTERSHOCK with 20.[2][4]
