New page

The 2000 Pan Am Seattle was a Pan Am Circuit tournament paintball event held from 9 to 11 June 2000 at Paradise Paintball Park in Port Orchard, Washington, United States. Although named for nearby Seattle, the venue was situated south-west of the city.

The tournament comprised 79 five-player entries across the amateur, novice and rookie divisions, together with ten Young Guns teams and twelve stock-class teams. Counting all divisions, Action Pursuit Games reported 101 team entries and described it as the largest paintball tournament yet held in the Pacific Northwest.[1][2]

Tournament
Paradise Paintball Park was operated by Ed and Margaret Wood and occupied part of South Kitsap Community Park. Tournament play used two inflatable Sup'Air fields and several woodland fields.[1][2]

The novice and amateur preliminary rounds began on Friday, with the rookie preliminaries following on Saturday. Semifinal and final games were held on Sunday. Rain affected the later preliminary games and continued during the Sunday rounds.[1][2]

The five-player competition used the Pan Am Circuit's limited-paint format, under which each player was restricted to 200 rounds. The restriction reduced the firepower difference between semiautomatic and pump markers. Chipley Custom Machine attracted particular attention by competing with customised WGP Sniper pump markers, including a preliminary-round victory over the Naughty Dogs.[1][2]

Young Guns and stock-class matches were played as three-player games on a smaller field constructed with Game On Gear bunkers. The Young Guns competition was intended for players aged 15 or younger who did not have established tournament experience.[1][2]

Refereeing was provided by members of No Limit, Phoenix Heat, Wildcards and Sudden Impact. Randy Wood served as the ultimate judge.[1]
Exile advanced to the final after tying the Naughty Dogs in the semifinal round; the tie was resolved using the teams' preliminary-round results. Armageddon Gold won the novice division, while Aftermath won the rookie division.[1][2]
