New page

The '''1999 NPPL season''' was the seventh season of the [[National Professional Paintball League]] (NPPL). Dates and locations follow WARPIG's contemporary event coverage.[1][2][3][4][5]

Boston replaced Portland on the calendar. Despite its Boston title, the tournament took place in South Yarmouth on Cape Cod. Bad Boyz Toyz and DYE Precision promoted the event.[4]

== Ten-player event winners ==
WARPIG and ClassicScores record the following professional and amateur winners.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

=== Avalanche's opening victories ===
Avalanche won consecutive professional 10-player tournaments at Las Vegas and Dallas. Following Dallas, WARPIG identified those victories and the team's forthcoming Chicago refereeing points as placing Avalanche in a strong position for the season championship.[2]

=== Image's consecutive victories ===
Image won Chicago after qualifying eighth for the professional semi-finals. The team followed that result with victory at Boston, ahead of the All Americans, Southern California Ironmen and Bob Long's Ironmen.[3][4]

== Five-player competition ==
Ton Ton Flinguers won the Las Vegas five-player competition, Da Boyz won Dallas and Phantom Jesters won Chicago. The published results do not assign these finals a professional or amateur classification.[6]

World Cup offered separate professional, Amateur A, Amateur B and novice five-player competitions.[5]

== World Cup ==
The tournament moved to a larger site near the former Paintball World fields in Kissimmee. Hurricane Irene disrupted preparations, with mud and delayed field construction contributing to scheduling difficulties.[5]

Additional referees and concept fields helped recover the five-player schedule before 10-player competition began. During the tournament, the starting warning was shortened from 30 seconds to 10 seconds, and 10-player games were reduced from 20 minutes to 15 minutes.[5]

=== Ten-player results ===
World Cup placings are documented in WARPIG's final score sheets and corroborated by ClassicScores.[6][7][8]

== Season championship ==
Avalanche secured the professional season championship, as confirmed in WARPIG's closing World Cup report. This title was separate from Aftershock's professional 10-player World Cup victory and Lockout's professional five-player World Cup victory.[5]
