Create the Dunedin South Island Championships article with Flashpoint’s documented wins and competition formats; explain the inferred 1995 dating.

New page

The '''1995 South Island Championships''' was a paintball competition held in Dunedin, New Zealand, with open-class and pump-action events. [[Flashpoint (New Zealand Paintball Team)|Flashpoint]] won both events.[1]

The event was described as taking place over Labour Weekend in a report published in April–June 1996. Its identification as the 1995 edition follows that chronology; Brian Thornley's later account also identified 1995 as a previous Dunedin tournament year.[1][2]

== Competition ==
Saturday's competition used open-class equipment. Sunday's pump-action competition used five-minute ends and a limit of 100 rounds per end. Play took place in a pine forestry block.[1]

Flashpoint entered Red and Yellow teams, while an Invercargill team also participated. The report stated that Flashpoint won both events, with Flashpoint Red taking prize money and cases of paint.[1]

== References ==
# “Flashpoint cleans up”, signed “B2”, captain of Flashpoint Red, ''[[Australian Paintballer]]'', April–June 1996, p. 13.
# [https://web.archive.org/web/20020806190014/http://www.paintball.co.nz/dunedin00.htm Dunedin City Challenge — 5 Man — 2000].
